Job Description

FIX Protocol Ltd. (FPL) is the global non-profit organisation that owns the intellectual property rights of the Financial Information eXchange Protocol (FIX).  FIX is the globally recognized messaging standard enabling the electronic communication of pre-trade, trade, and post-trade messages up to settlement, between financial institutions, primarily investment managers, broker-dealers, ECNs and exchanges.  FPL is looking for a resource to work closely with global trading venues to ensure that they are offering a standard version of FIX rather than a non standardized version of the protocol.  A large part of the role for this person will be to capture, understand and document best / standardized practices and then analyze the specifications of trading centers to report where they are not being followed.   Discussions are to be based on the latest version of the FIX Protocol – FIX 5.0.   The role will involve working directly with the exchanges at the functional as well as technical level to do Quality Assurance type review work and also working with the Global Exchanges and Markets Committee and Global Technical Committee and further developing and bringing to completion an Assessment Framework and Evaluation Guidelines for FIX concepts that ECNs / Exchanges can leverage.  The position will involve occasional travel around the globe.

Job Requirements
  • Experience with the use of industry standards and protocols, including detailed knowledge of the FIX Protocol
  • Excellent written and verbal communication
  • Capability to work with technology staff of global trading centers and discuss and resolve FIX usage issues to assist in achieving FIX best practice implementations rather than one off implementations
  • Has shown the ability for complex modeling, e.g. developed a conceptual data model in the financial area
  • Provide FPL leadership with business rationale why the technology should be implemented in various scenarios
  • Ability to achieve consensus, motivate others and drive to project/activity completion
  • Minimum of 5 years experience in the financial services arena with at least 3 years in FIX implementation
  • Self starter who takes initiative to complete a task
  • Strong attention to detail required
  • Able to prioritize and manage time effectively

Job Requirements
  •      Business knowledge of execution centers as well as order routing and OMS / EMS alternatives.
  •      Experience with the use of industry standards and protocols, including an overall knowledge of the FIX Protocol.
  •      Experience in client relationship management and ability to motivate others.
  •      Has contacts in multiple exchanges in at least major financial centers internationally.
  •      Has an understanding of the basic regulatory environment across the financial services sector, and of the work of regulators in different geographies. 
  •      Highly developed sales skills.
  •      Strong interpersonal, verbal and communication skills, able to build relationships with people at all levels.

System Administrator needed to install, configure, and support Jordan & Jordan's local area network (LAN), and wide area network (WAN). Oversee the IT infrastructure.   Handle website maintenance and development for a minimum of four websites.  Be the primary point of contact for all telecommunication issues, including problem resolution and following up on trouble tickets.

 

 

Job Requirements

 

  • Prior experience as a System Administrator with a minimum of 3 years experience in the financial services industry. 
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills required.
  • Maintain and administer computer networks and related computing environments, including computer hardware, systems software, applications software, and all configurations.
  • Exposure to networking, in particular: Juniper firewalls, Cisco routers
  • Experience with Microsoft SharePoint (2003/2007) a plus.
  • Design, configure, and test computer hardware, networking software and operating systems.
  • Procurement:  Analyze equipment performance records in order to determine the need for repair or replacement.  Coordinate with vendors and with company personnel in order to facilitate purchases.
